Beware Negative Amortization Loans "Neg-Ams"

It's a very rare case that a negative amortization loan is anything but bad for the consumer. Over time, the balance of the loan increases, and the interest rates have a propensity to do so as well. They seem to become popular just as interest rates are bottoming out and preparing for a rebound. These loans allow the consumer to pay less monthly, but at long-term expense.

Stay away from these loans. Make sure you don't get one unless you have some specialized expertise in real estate and really know what you're getting yourself into.
